Bringing the Good News to young people all Summer

Despite some hesitation around quarantine and restrictions that may have been in place, we are delighted that the green light was given for churches to hold Summer Camps and Holiday Bible Clubs this summer. This is a huge part of what we do as UCM, sharing the Gospel with the young people of the villages. As you can imagine, having not been at school for several months and some barely even leaving their homes, the young people were hugely excited to be able to attend camp. This summer we supported two residential camps for 14-18 years olds, one being held in the village of Blagodatne and one at Camp Maximum.

During these weeks we saw 64 young people take part in games and challenges, build friendships with Christian believers and hear the message of Jesus. Please pray for these young people, that the seeds planted in their hearts would be watered by the ongoing youth work in their villages in the coming months.

Holiday Bible Clubs give the opportunity for primary school aged children to attend in the mornings where they enjoy an fun-packed time with crafts, games and songs, and most importantly, stories from the Bible. Volunteers work extremely hard over these weeks, often running a club in one village in the morning and a second in a different village in the afternoon. In total clubs will be running in 12 locations this summer, reaching an expected 800+ children.

This ministry is always fruitful, often providing the doorway to families encountering the church. This summer we have seen lots of new faces at clubs as a result of the Covidcare packages that were delivered throughout April and May. We praise God that this outreach ministry has resulted in many coming along to the churches and seeking their Heavenly Father who is the ultimate Provider.
