Joyful Christmas Celebrations

Every year we celebrate Christmas in Ukraine with a family party, and this year was no different. The team from Blagodatne Church prepared a great party; games, testimonies, a quiz and a drama performed by a very well-dressed team of amateur actors. Invitations are sent to everyone in the village and it has become a highlight of the season for many.

The party is hosted in 9 different locations which means the team, including set and props, pack themselves into cars and drive across the district through the snow-covered roads. The performance allows the guests, children, parents and grandparents alike, to hear the true Christmas story in a culture where this is not widely taught. It is such a joy and privilege to share the truth to these hearts. At the end of the fun every guest is presented with a gift, around which is illustrated the story of Jesus birth so that they could take it home and continue to read it.

Across the 9 locations 350 gifts were distributed this year, meaning 350 people who have heard the message of our Saviour come to dwell among us. We pray that through parties like this relationships will be built with those who do not know God, and that they will return to church on other occasions and come to know Jesus as their personal Lord and Saviour.
